The warranty, in plain words

Two warranties protect a new window: the manufacturer's, on the product, and ours, on the installation. Here is what each one covers in this sample wording.

Sample terms. The owner replaces them with the real manufacturer document and the company's workmanship terms before launch.

The product

  • Frame and sash: no cracking, peeling or warping
  • Glass seal: no fog or moisture between the panes
  • Hardware: locks, cranks, rollers and hinges
  • Screens: frame and mesh for a set period

Our installation

  • Water getting in around the frame
  • Sashes that bind or will not lock after settling in
  • Interior trim we removed and reinstalled
  • Labour years: owner fills in

Not covered

Glass broken by impact, damage from later remodel work by others, normal wear on screens, and problems with walls or siding we did not touch.

Questions

Whose lifetime is it?

In this sample wording, the original homeowner's, for as long as they own the home. It transfers once to the next owner for a set number of years. The owner fills in the real terms from the manufacturer's document.

What if the glass fogs up?

A failed seal is covered by the manufacturer's glass warranty. We file the claim and install the replacement glass.

What if the window leaks around the frame?

That is our installation, and our workmanship warranty covers it. Call or text and we come back.

Foggy glass, cold drafts or a stuck slider?
